Un petit debat de Facebook. -partie un-

Here's how it started:

Sara W - Please put this on your status if you know or love someone who is gay. My wish is that people will understand that being gay is neither a disease nor a choice-people who are gay are not looking for a cure but for acceptance and equal rights. 93% won’t copy and paste this. Will you make it your status for at least one hour...? THIS IS FOR... 6 KIDS WHO COMMITTED SUICIDE BECAUSE THEY WERE BULLIED FOR BEING GAY

Nothing at all wrong here. This is something that I completely believe in but didn't copypaste because I could never let myself copypaste a status, personal principle, but I ramble. It continues innocuously:

M (dunno her) ~ did you wear purple today?
Sara W- Yep
Purple shirt, three purple bracelets, purple earrings, and purple socks

It was wear purple in memory of the gay teens who'd committed suicide because of bullying (i couldn't find my purple shirt :( )

Then bangboompow, OP's cousin comes in:

K-we should love them....but you should understand that it is a choice...and a sin...but we should still love them and show them God.

At which point i break with my homework and write:

Niki Thehufflepuff Wells- I'm sorry if I'm butting in; I really don't know you, but I find it hard to accept your comment. Being gay is not a choice, nor do I believe that it is a sin. I'm sure that it is quite possible to be both religious and gay as the two are not mutually exclusive. One should love their neighbor regardless of their sexual orientation or even their religion, as per God's will. I can understand people perhaps being uncomfortable with the idea of homosexuality, but to regard it as something different from love between man and woman is like saying that Catholicism, for example, is completely and utterly exclusive of Protestantism. They both worship Christ as both gay and straight couples love each other.

OP reenters:

Sara W- K, I love u as my cousin and I respect your opinion but I'm going to have to disagree with you

There we go, Jess. I'll have to write about my feelings tomorrow or sometime, but that's my day right there.

~Niki
middle name Thehufflepuff

PS~ if K decides that she'd like to respond to me with a whole bunch of conservative ultra-christian crap, I'll edit the post with it. It's amusing in a perverse way
